About the role

Sitting within the Sales and Marketing Directorate the newly created Residential Sales team is responsible for delivering key sales and retention targets. The team will operate across a number of different channels and campaigns, including inbound and outbound voice channels, email and some really fantastic face to face events.

Working closely with our colleagues in Customer Care and Marketing we will deliver campaigns which are reflective of Bristol Energy’s core values and principles, being a force for social good – simple, fair and transparent. Accountabilities

You will be at the forefront of Bristol Energy’s brand, delivering positive and powerful conversations to customers on the phone, via email and face to face when they are at their renewal point, and to warm leads who have expressed an interest in switching.

This position will be exciting, fast-paced and varied – so you will need to be able to turn your hand to a number of activities. Personality is key in this role! Although not an exhaustive list, these duties will include:

  • Promoting the benefits of Bristol Energy via a varied channel mix

  • Driving customer acquisition and retention through successful closing of existing customers and warm leads

  • Providing accurate and compliant quotes

  • Onboarding customers information accurately into our systems to ensure a smooth sale to switch journey

  • Managing own lead pipeline with consistent lead follow up and recording results thoroughly

  • Provide an excellent customer experience by taking ownership of work

  • Reduce customer losses through delivering powerful conversations at key points in the customer journey

  • Identify upsell opportunities for customers at different stages within their life-stage and or journey

  • Delivering on your promises is important to drive the required customer centric approach

About you - Knowledge, skills and experience

You will have:

  • Experience of telephone based sales and retention roles

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Excellent rapport building skills

  • Commercially focussed with a target driven mind balanced with ethical selling

  • Strong team player

  • Able to achieve targets through exceptional objection handling skills and high conversion rates

  • Ability to cope under pressure in a busy environment

  • Organised and able to manage own workload to achieve maximum results

  • Work flexibly across a number of different campaigns

  • Thorough and trustworthy in completion of work

  • Customer focussed

You will ideally have:

  • Energy industry experience

  • Telephone sales/retention experience in a highly regulated industry

  • Face to face sales/retention experience

  • A good understanding of leads to sales processes and general lead management
