Residential Direct Sales Manager

Salary: Up to £45,000

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Duration: Permanent

Location: Bristol (Temple Meads)

About the role

We are looking for a talented and customer focused individual to join our Residential Customer Sales Team. You will be proactive and driven to deliver customer growth targets. You’ll be on top of all our sales channels to maximise their efficiency. You’ll be a role model to your team and create and maintain a positive team culture, so colleagues and customers are engaged.

Your main accountabilities will include to:

  • Achieve our customer acquisition and renewal business plan targets across a broad range of channels

  • Support the creation of a successful direct sales strategy, optimising customer volume and value

  • Ensure all direct sales & renewal activity is undertaken and delivered in a way that supports our ethos, social goals, values and quality/compliance standards

  • Deliver valuable, data-driven insight relating to key internal stakeholders in order to support continuous improvement of campaigns & proposition development

  • Proactive management of capacity to meet demand. Ensure resource is optimised to deliver the greatest overall value through the various channels to market

  • Build an efficient and effective team (culture, skills & processes) to help deliver and support the immediate and future requirements of Bristol Energy

  • Be an ambassador and champion of our brand and ensure all activities support us being a force for social good in a practical and measurable way

  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop products and services that work towards achieving the acquisition and retention of residential energy customers

  • Generate and manage new strategic leads and opportunities through a range of prospecting and networking activities

  • Take ownership and deliver to agreed commercial outcomes

  • Work collaboratively with the wider business to ensure we have the necessary sales collateral, marketing communications and PR content and campaigns

About you

You must have:

  • Strong sales and retention management experience

  • A passion for offering excellent customer experience

  • Experience of managing, developing and motivating others to succeed

  • Commercial focus with the ability to develop and deliver sales & mention strategies in a regulated and fast-moving competitive market

  • A proactive and goal-oriented approach to success, delivering on time, achieving quality standards and always within budget

  • Excellent numeracy and strong analytical skills

  • Ability to build relationships, influence others and inspire confidence amongst both the Residential Customer Sales Team and wider senior stakeholders

  • A willingness to travel within Bristol and the across UK

You will ideally have:

  • Experience of sales in a retail contact centre environment

  • Experience in the energy industry or similar regulated environment
