About the role

Reporting to the Head of Propositions and Pricing, this role is responsible for proposition life cycle management to unlock and maintain customer value in all energy supply and service offerings. Being the voice of the customer, the Proposition Manager will have to demonstrate strong creativity, empathy and problem solving to deliver solutions to meet customer needs. Proposition development will be data-driven and hypothesis led with the ability to balance user research and business objectives. Results oriented, you can cut to the core of a problem, identify what needs to be done and when, and work with the teams to get solutions shipped. Vision, energy, and resilience will be required to deliver proposition developments with the ability to motivate and drive cross-functional teams without formal authority.

Key accountabilities

Your main accountabilities are listed below:

  • Manage the Proposition Road Map and lead the Proposition Development Process.
  • Own the new proposition process from end to end – from idea generation to propositional delivery.

  • Own the backlog of proposition development proposals, and support evaluation, documentation, and prioritization of all deliverables.

  • Engage and consult with internal stakeholders, working cross functionally with all teams to ensure the right propositions are being delivered at the right time in the right way.

  • Evaluate propositional performance to inform lifecycle management.

  • Develop Customer Insight driven proposition development, working closely with Management Insight, Digital, and Customer Experiences teams, to identify customer need.

  • Embed a culture of customer insight led proposition development.

  • Be able to create a customer need hypothesis, and test this hypothesis using quantitative and qualitative data sources.

  • Be creative and resourceful in finding, and synthesizing data sources to support customer insight.

  • Source and provide market and competitor insight to the wider business.

About you

You must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years prior experience in the development of commercial propositions development.

  • Demonstrate the ability to connect customers to the products and services they need.

  • Experience of working in an agile delivery environment, and the ability to own and maintain this process.

  • Great organisational and co-ordination abilities, you’ll be able to juggle multiple tasks with multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to build strong internal stakeholder relationships, and negotiate priorities, critical for the successful delivery of propositions.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to pose a hypothesis, and then seek out data sources, synthesize information, and provide insight to test the hypothesis.

You will ideally have:

  • Degree educated in a numerate or commercial discipline.

  • Experience working within a small company in its early stages of growth, where you have supported building best practice.
