The team of six runners tackling Britol 10k is made up of colleagues from our customer care, billing, marketing and policy teams, and they range from experienced marathon runners to 10k first-timers.
Ella, the team’s unofficial captain, says:
“I had an amazing opportunity here to put forward the idea of getting a team of Bristol Energy folk to run the Bristol 10k on May 15th, for a local charity. We all voted for which charity we’d support and Bristol Mind was the clear winner.
"Bristol Energy’s message of positive energy really fits with the way Bristol Mind are setting out to bust stereotypes of mental health.”
The team have also already held an office bake sale, raising £110 to boost their sponsorship.
About Bristol Mind
Bristol Mind works to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote good emotional and mental health.
Founded in 1965 it is completely independent of the better known national Mind charity, so it receives no fundraising help from them. This means that all our local fundraising efforts will go directly to the local Bristol Mind. It’s important as we want our first staff fundraising efforts to benefit local people as directly as possible.
About Bristol 10k
Bristol 10k, now organised by Great Run, is a great local event, and a key one in many local runners’ schedules. The route goes from At-Bristol, along the harbour and up the Portway, returning for a spin around Hotwells and back to the finish. It takes in many local landmarks, including the Suspension Bridge.
The event attracts runners from around the UK, not just Bristol, so it’s a great event that shows off our city.
