HR Business Partner

Salary: Up to £35,000

Hours: Part Time - Up to 20 Hours per week (flexible)

Duration: Initially 3 Months

Location: Bristol (Temple Meads)

About the role

You will be an essential part of the People Team who have a vital role to play to ensure we have the right people and work environment to achieve our vision. You will use your experience to support with key HR initiatives and advise on a range of issues from recruitment and activities throughout the colleague journey with Bristol Energy, as well as supporting with project work.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support the delivery and improvement of our HR processes, providing HR insight and guidance to the wider team

  • Lead on internal HR initiatives to improve the efficiency and smooth running of the HR function and improve aspects of the colleague’s journey e.g. pay progression and reward incentives

  • Ensure that our internal processes and policies are compliant with current legislation e.g. employment law and GDPR

  • Support the creation of policies and ensuring relevant information is up to date and easily available to colleagues through Microsoft SharePoint or other methods

  • Work closely with the HR Manager to build and maintain effective, professional working relationships and to ensure initiatives are aligned to our vision, values and strategic objectives

  • Provide guidance and manage complex Employee Relations issues e.g. meetings considering dismissal

  • Provide cover for day to day management advice and issues when the HR Advisor is not available

  • Assisting in recruitment activities

About you

You must have:

  • Strong generalist experience as a Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or HR Manager

  • A sound knowledge of HR principles, ER practices and employment law

  • Experience of successfully implementing HR change programmes e.g. delivering pay, reward and recognition incentives, using employee data or policy reviews

  • A proactive approach and be self-motivated to make improvements that impact directly on colleagues and managers

  • An ability to be organised and have the ability to multi-task in a busy environment

  • Confidence and be approachable to build strong working relationships quickly

  • Excellent IT skills including the Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

You will ideally have:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent

  • Experience of working in small / medium sized organisations

  • The ability to build reports and analyse data
