Head of B2B

Salary: Up to £65,000 dependent on experience

Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours

Duration: Permanent

About the role

An exciting new opportunity to become the leader of our B2B department and develop our strategy in line with our purpose, to ensure success. As Head of B2B, you will be the driving force behind B2B strategy, targets, sales and service for a company that makes a difference. You will be responsible for driving B2B growth during the next phase of our organisation’s development.

Your main accountabilities are listed below:

  • Develop, refresh and deliver a purposeful B2B strategy that supports our vision and strategic objectives

  • Create an efficient way of working to facilitate growth and reduce cost to serve

  • Be a leader in ensuring an exceptional experience for our business customers

  • Managing a matrix B2B team comprised of direct and indirect resources across the business and via third parties, to deliver the required activity

  • Work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure effective management of our combined marketing and sales strategy

  • Use your knowledge and expertise to support other areas of the business

  • Act as a role model in living our values, both the across your department and the wider business

  • Driving new innovative products and services into the B2B function and across the business

  • Cultivate an environment of caring for one another and champion our colleagues’ wellbeing

  • Responsible for the full colleague journey within your department, from recruitment, onboarding, performance and development, absence management and any other colleague issues that may arise within the department

  • Ensure the B2B Team connect with customers through appropriate channels and put Bristol into the heart of what we do.

  • Reporting on progress against the strategy and the teams’ key activities

  • Seek constant improvement to create and maintain a position as an industry leader in service, sales and customer experience

About you

You must have:

  • Experience of leading and motivating a team in a B2B environment

  • A good understanding of B2B sales best practice and driving and meeting sales targets

  • A curiosity for the B2B energy market and a passion for innovative products and services

  • The ability to adapt to the changing nature of the business and industry, and be brave and curious to have an innovative approach

  • Experience of building and developing effective ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • An ability to analyse and understand complex information and create reports or insights that can be presented to others in a clear and simple way

  • Personal principles that align with Bristol Energy’s purpose, strategic objectives and values

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to positively influence customers and colleagues at all levels of the organisation

You will ideally have:

  • Experience gained within the energy or wider utilities industry, with an understanding of the new energy landscape

  • Existing relationships with the Bristol or South West business community
