Finance Administration Lead

Salary: Up to £30,000

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 Hours per week

Duration: Permanent

About the role

The Finance Team has a responsibility for delivering all accountancy activities and ensuring that the organisation is compliant with regulatory bodies. We manage customer and supplier payments and provide oversight of the annual accounts. Corporate finance responsibilities include managing policies around debt, taxation, equity, capital and acquisitions.

This role is a new role to support the move of financial operational tasks into the Finance Team and ensure they are completed accurately and efficiently. You will oversee the Finance Administrators and be key to ensuring all customer and supplier accounts are up to date and bank accounts are reconciled.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller to implement process improvements for customer payments and accounts payable and to ensure all our bank reconciliations are accurate and up to date.

Your main accountabilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of the finance administration activities, ensuring timely completion and accuracy

  • Ensuring all customer payments are allocated into our operating system to ensure customer accounts are up to date

  • Ensuring processing of all supplier invoices, ensuring invoices are paid on time and there are zero aged creditors

  • Maintaining accurate bank reconciliations, actioning all open items and introducing processes to reduce the number of open items

  • Day to day management of the Finance Administrators

  • Any other related duties to support Bristol Energy and the Finance Team

About you

You must have:

  • Bank reconciliation experience

  • Exceptional organisational skills and be dedicated to ensuring deadlines are met

  • Strong numerical skills with accuracy and attention to detail

  • The ability to identify issues with payment records and seek effective solutions

  • Self-motivation to learn and develop new skills

  • A proactive mind to seek more accurate and efficient ways of working

  • The ability to work effectively with other team members

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working in a similar role

  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel or above

  • Knowledge of Sage 200
