Electricity Data Quality Lead

Salary: Up to £35,000

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 Hours per week

About the Role

The Data Excellence Department are responsible for ensuring Bristol Energy’s industry data is driving the value and insight that is desired by a growing energy company. A key responsibility is to ensure that the correct volumes of power and gas are attributed to our customers and settled accurately, and compliantly with Industry regulation.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that electricity-based projects are developed to a standard befitting of an increasingly data driven industry. You will work with the Gas Operations Lead to create a center of excellence where data, revenue and settlement is above and beyond industry standards. You will work flexibly to provide support to the gas shipper project, utilising the team to best serve the needs of the business. You will have the opportunity to sculpt the team, its vison and how we achieve our goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Management of external relationships and feeding back all operational improvements and blockers

  • Establish and develop a team of data analysts

  • Holding team meetings, 121s and personal development conversations

  • Planning and implementation of settlement related projects into the team including managing expectations and timeframes

  • Management of the BSC audit. Ensuring meetings are held between parties, documentation is up to date, and data is exchanged in line with requirements

  • Overseeing training materials and ensuring training is distributed across the business to underpin the team

  • Design and implement a structure for gas settlement and imbed the learning and reporting into the team for BAU

  • Lead on the revenue project and ensure that it is maintained and developed within the business

About you

You will have:

  • Experience of the electricity industry and settlement processes

  • The ability to lead on projects and provide insight to the senior leadership team

  • An analytical and logical approach with the ability to understand numerical information & systems context

  • Great IT skills including Excel, VBA and word

  • An ability to be resilient and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to adapt to build strong rapport with a range of different customers, colleagues and third parties

  • Excellent organisational skills and able to manage time effectively

  • Self-motivated and display enthusiasm for the ethos and vision of our business

  • Conscientious, with strong analytical and numerical skills and a good eye for detail

You will ideally have:

  • Experience of building reports and modelling data using Power BI and SQL

  • Management of Audits and face to face relationships with external parties

  • Management of a small team and their day to day activities
