Ethical Consumer magazine has been helping people make ethical choices since 1989 and researches the social and environmental impact of companies across a range of industries.
The rating follows another top ten placing for Bristol Energy in the annual Which? customer survey, announced earlier this year.
Ethical Consumer rates suppliers on their renewable energy mix, including whether they offer 100% green electricity, and support for renewable generators. Suppliers are also assessed on their social contribution to communities, something which is at the heart of everything Bristol Energy does.
