Bristol Energy raises over £2000 for LinkAge, helping tackle loneliness in the city

12 July 2019

  • This year, the Bristol Energy team participated in a number of fundraising activities to help tackle loneliness faced by the elderly in our city.

Working alongside the local charity LinkAge, the team have been involved in volunteering at a local Memory Café that helps those living with dementia, organising an internal cake sale and fancy dress day, and competing in the Bristol 10k run.

The activities raised a combined total of £2,244.52 for LinkAge.

We are absolutely blown away by the money Bristol Energy have raised, it’s a phenomenal amount for us, which will allow us to do so much more. The team have been brilliant to work with and have kept us updated every step of the way.

- Kate Constance, LinkAge Fundraising Manager

Working together to make a difference

LinkAge facilitate a number of activities around the city to help combat loneliness. The £2,244.52 raised will go towards funding a printable version of their ‘what’s on’ activity guide, ensuring people with no internet access are able to see what events are happening in their local area.

We know that loneliness can be as harmful for our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day, so we’re proud to be able to help LinkAge on their mission to empower the elderly and improve their health and well-being. It’s been a fantastic effort from the team for a brilliant cause.

- Marek Majewicz, Managing Director, Bristol Energy
